Harriet House began life as a private dwelling in 1928 in a much more modest form. It has seen steady development over the last century up to this present day.

In 1984 the owners of Harriet House decided to give it its current guest house status starting with three guest bedrooms and extending to its present five bedrooms.

The current owners John and Beryl took over the property at the end of 2002.
